  • Ake offers half or full day Governance Planning sessions, depending on the size and complexity of your Trust.

    We will:

    • Assess your current Board composition and help you determine the most effective Board structure.

    • Work with you to create a Governance Framework Plan and Governance Action Calendar, which will identify significant opportunities and risks to be managed.

    • Ensure the Board are aligned with the purpose, vision, and strategy for the Trust, then assist you to set annual and quarterly goals and define strategies to achieve them.

    • If applicable, help you separate operational and Governance roles and establish the responsibilities that come with each.

    Following the session, the Board can clearly articulate the plan to the CEO/General Manager or whānau so that it can be implemented.

  • For new trustees, we can provide a series of workshops to ensure they clearly understand their role and responsibilities, as well as relevant legislation underpinning the governance of Māori Trusts. Please contact us for our next workshop dates.
